PLANO-MEYER RESIDENCE

Ashland, Oregon

A 3,000 s.f. residence set on the steep hillsides of Ashland, OR. The clients sought to challenge the craftsman-replica precedent of the surrounding neighborhood with the incorporation of modern materials. A difficult north-facing slope and stringent solar-shading requirements created a well defined building envelope that fit the programmatic needs of the clients without compromising the intent of the design. Traditional gable roof forms and massing, combined with strong vertical concrete elements and glazing create a dialog between the historical and the modern.

Principal Architect: Raymond Kistler
